Pratap is the founder and Chairman of Thought Perfect Pte Ltd a Singapore based firm providing coaching and mentoring services to CEOs. Thought Perfect also has the exclusive rights to represent Silega, one of the world’s leading companies in business simulations and gamification. Pratap was the Director of The Leadership Circle (South Asia) which is the most holistic process of evaluating and developing leadership effectiveness. Earlier he was a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles in their Leadership Consulting Practice in Asia Pacific. He worked closely with clients to achieve greater levels of business impact from their leadership teams and top talent by identifying and developing specific leadership opportunities to enable them to make a targeted and purposeful change.
He has over 40 years of international work experience across all continents and approx. 5000 hours of coaching senior leaders. Many senior and aspiring corporate leaders around the world have consulted with Pratap as part of their executive development in unlocking greater leadership potential. His deep commitment to improving leadership effectiveness has helped numerous organizations enhance their business performance.
Prior to his executive coaching days, Pratap was a US Partner with KPMG, based in Singapore as Head of Global Markets for Asia Pacific for seven years. He also sat on the oversight Board of KPMG India. His main focus was to grow his firm’s business along with the client’s business through strategic CEO conversations that led to the development of market entry strategies, joint ventures/strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions.
Pratap was based in Moscow from 1992 to 1994 as Head of Business Advisory services for Ernst & Young in Russia. During this time, he was the point person for arranging joint ventures between Russian and foreign companies. He has also held several senior leadership roles in consumer, industrial and professional services organizations where he successfully grew the business. Starting his career in the Market Research division of J. Walter Thompson, he has been exposed to a wide range of products and services holding senior marketing and leadership positions in multinational companies like Eastman Kodak, The Bata Shoe Company, Ernst & Young and KPMG. He has also lived and worked in Indonesia, Nigeria, Singapore, India, travelling all over the Asia Pacific & Middle East region. Some clients served are Euro Kids International, HSBC, Kraft Foods/Mondelez, Deutsche Bank, Philip Morris, Siemens, Kellogg, Starbucks, Isola, Lazada, Delifrance, Larsen & Toubro Finance, Thermax, Stellar Search, Raymond, Manipal Health, Marico, Abbott, ANZ Bank, PwC, Hindustan Polyamides, Singapore Sports Council, Kancor, Omni Actives, KPMG, Cholayil, APM Terminals Management (Singapore) Pte Ltd etc.
An avid poetry writer and philanthropist, he has published 2 books where a significant part of the book’s proceeds goes to charity. He also gave back to society as an Executive in Residence at the National University of Singapore Business School, helping to build bridges between academia and industry. A keen tennis and golfing enthusiast, he is a member of several leading clubs in Singapore. He also did a stint as the Vice President of the Singapore Lawn Tennis Association.
Pratap is an honors graduate in economics and statistics and a gold medal winner in his postgraduate studies in advertising and public relations. He is also a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM UK) with a MBA from the National University of Singapore. He was the Founder President (1996) of the Singapore branch of The Chartered Institute of Marketing and was conferred the CIM President’s Award. He sits on several Boards as an Independent Director.
