It took me six months of working with a leading design firm to develop our logo. When you look at it carefully, you will see that they are all squares interacting with each other to form a perfect circle.
Each of the squares represents the boxes we find ourselves in. It represents our values and beliefs, and consequentially our thoughts, ideas, feelings, perspectives, our world view, our sense of being. Taken together it represents our self at a holistic level. When we get the squares to align perfectly they become a function of perfect thoughts that produce a perfect circle, a perfect way of being that could lead to perfect outcomes. They also represent the issues, the dilemmas, the different contexts of situations which when we successfully address through our thought process and consequent behaviours can lead to perfect outcomes.
The outcomes can never be really perfect. Hence we don’t see the world in a left brained logical, sequential manner. It is never a straight line but a circle of thoughts, decisions, behaviours and actions that represent our being, and so our business, our life. Our current state can never really be perfect because the moment we achieve it we set new goals which define a desired future state. As long as we have a desired future state, the current state can never really be perfect. Hence it is the representation of our being, as a continuous process of evolution, as we seek perfect outcomes. It represents the circle of life.
The circle of life refers to the fact that there is no such thing as an end – because every ending is in reality the beginning of a new journey. Even death is not really the end but the seed of some other life. Albert Einstein indirectly spoke of it when he said that energy cannot be created or destroyed; it merely changes form. Most often when one talks about the “Circle of Life” they refer to an animal either becoming food for another or simply decomposing into fertilization for plant life, but everything in existence participates in this great cycle, including Earth itself.
From a pure business perspective, the circle represents wholesome leadership that plays a significant role in executing strategy. Leadership effectiveness is what drives organizational effectiveness. It is possible only when there is a constant process of learning and evolving as a human being, of achieving a level of consciousness that allows the unleashing of human potential. It starts with clear thinking. Made visible though our actions.
